Decarbonizing Natural Gas: A Review of Catalytic Decomposition and Carbon Formation Mechanisms

چکیده
In the context of energy conservation and reduction CO2 emissions, inconsistencies between inevitable emission in traditional hydrogen production methods eco-friendly targets have become more apparent over time. The catalytic decomposition methane (CDM) is a novel technology capable producing without releasing CO2. Since produced via CDM neither blue nor green, term “turquoise” selected to describe this technology. Notably, by-products cracking are simply carbon deposits with different structures, which can offset cost should they be harvested. However, encapsulation catalysts by such reduces contact area said throughout process, thereby rendering continuous impossible. This paper mainly covers reaction mechanisms three common metal-based (Ni, Co, Fe) from experimental modelling approaches. modality key parameters that affect formation also discussed.

Review on Innovative Catalytic Reforming of Natural Gas to Syngas
Decreasing supplies of high quality crude oil and increasing demand for high quality distillates have motivated the interest in converting natural gas to liquid fuels, especially with the present boom in natural gas proven reserves. Nevertheless, one major issue is the curtailment of costs incurred in producing synthesis gas from natural gas, which account for approximately 60% of the costs use...
متن کاملCatalytic Decomposition of Methane and Ethylene into the Carbon and Hydrogen
The role of nickel as catalyst on the conversion of methane and ethylene in a gas phase flow reactor in the absence of oxygen is studied. In this study, nickel in its different forms is used as catalyst. The role of pressure, flow rate, and temperature on the conversion of feed gases is investigated. The experiments have been carried out in the presence and absence of the catalysts to measure t...
متن کاملInvestigation of the Hydrate Formation Equilibrium Conditions of Natural Gas
One of the main problems in oil recovery via the gas injection is the formation of hydrates in thelines. In order to prevent the formation of hydrate in these lines, which leads to the blockage andsometimes explosion, at first, the equilibrium formation conditions must be determined and then toprevent its formation by changing the thermodynamic conditions or by adding the inhibitors. In thisres...
